Job Summary

Howbury School is seeking a dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education, fostering a nurturing environment, and supporting the developmental needs of young learners.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development: Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, emotional, and social development.
Instruction: Utilize diverse teaching methods, including play-based learning, storytelling, and hands-on activities to engage children.
Child Assessment: Observe and document children’s progress, providing regular feedback to parents and guardians.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages respect and cooperation.
Parent and Community Engagement: Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents, and involve parents in classroom activities.
Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and workshops to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure the classroom environment adheres to health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and addressing potential hazards.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of children’s attendance, progress, and incidents, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with fellow educators and staff to plan and implement school events, workshops, and community outreach programs.
Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall mission and goals of the preschool.

Qualifications

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field.
Experience: At least one year of experience working with young children in a preschool or similar setting is preferred.
