Job Summary
We are looking for a responsible and attentive Pool Attendant to oversee the safety and cleanliness of our swimming pool area.
The ideal candidate will ensure that all guests and members enjoy a safe, clean, and well-maintained pool environment while following all safety protocols.
This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
Responsibilities
Actively observe swimmers and pool users to ensure safety, enforce pool rules, and prevent accidents or unsafe behavior. Address any rule violations courteously but firmly.
Maintain a thorough understanding of pool safety procedures, including water depth restrictions, diving regulations, and emergency response protocols.
Be prepared to perform CPR, first aid, or rescue procedures in case of accidents, injuries, or medical emergencies. Assist lifeguards in emergency situations when necessary.
Regularly inspect and clean poolside areas, lounge chairs, and restrooms to ensure a sanitary and pleasant environment. Remove debris, empty trash bins, and restock towels or supplies as needed.
Check the functionality of pool ladders, railings, and other safety features. Report any maintenance issues or hazards immediately. Assist with basic pool maintenance, such as checking chlorine levels and water temperature.
Greet guests warmly, answer questions about pool rules, facilities, and services, and offer assistance when needed. Help guests find seating, provide towels, or arrange poolside amenities.
Ensure that all users follow proper hygiene practices, such as showering before entering the pool, avoiding food and drinks in the water, and wearing appropriate swimwear.
Arrange pool chairs, umbrellas, and lounge areas neatly each day. Ensure all safety equipment, such as lifebuoys and rescue poles, are in their designated places.
Communicate with maintenance teams about water quality concerns, broken equipment, or cleanliness issues. Support lifeguards by keeping a watchful eye on pool activities and responding to their instructions.
Help organize and oversee pool-related events, such as swimming lessons, aqua aerobics classes, or poolside parties. Ensure smooth operation and assist guests during these activities.
Regularly participate in safety drills, refresher courses, and first aid training to stay prepared for any emergencies. Maintain valid certifications as required.
Requirements
Minimum of SSCE certificate or OND / NCE certificate
2 years experience as a Pool Attendant, Lifeguard, or in a similar hospitality role is preferred.
CPR, First Aid, and Basic Water Safety certifications (or willingness to obtain).
Strong swimming skills and knowledge of water rescue techniques.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to maintain a clean and organized pool area.
Physically fit and capable of standing for long periods, lifting equipment, and performing rescues if needed.
