Role Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Business Developer to spearhead growth and strategic collaborations for our Molecular Diagnostics and Genomics Laboratory. The ideal candidate will focus on identifying business opportunities, expanding our market reach, and fostering partnerships within the healthcare, research, and biotechnology sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Expansion
Identify and engage potential clients, including hospitals, research institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and government agencies.
Develop strategies to increase market penetration for our molecular diagnostics services (HBV/HIV viral load, STI panels, HPV PCR detection, parentage testing, oncology tests etc.).
Analyze market trends and competitor activities to position our lab effectively.
Sales & Client Relationship Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
Conduct presentations and demonstrations to showcase our lab’s services.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements to drive revenue growth.
Strategic Partnerships & Collaborations
Establish partnerships with universities, biotech companies, and healthcare institutions.
Work closely with internal teams (scientists, lab managers, and marketing) to align business strategies with operational capabilities.
Marketing & Brand Positioning
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns.
Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
Develop case studies and success stories to showcase our expertise.
Revenue Growth & Performance Monitoring
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular business development reports.
Develop financial forecasts and revenue projections.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
Experience working with hospitals, diagnostic labs, or research institutions.
Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements in molecular diagnostics.
Familiarity with grant writing and funding opportunities in genomics and diagnostic
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or a related field.
3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships in the biotech, healthcare, or molecular diagnostics sector.
Strong understanding of molecular diagnostics technologies (PCR, qPCR, NGS, dPCR) and their applications.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing successful business strategies.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
