THE ROLE (JOB SUMMARY):
Reporting to the Program Manager (PM), the M&E Officer is responsible for ensuring accurate and consistent data collection and reporting on the children that come to CLL for help and support and on any projects undertaken by CLL, as well as for the evaluation and analysis of the data collected, in order to develop and support the organisation’s programs and policies.
The M&E Officer also provides support to the PM and works closely with the Outreach Officer in supervising and educating the children that come to the drop-in centre on basic literacy, numeracy and life skills.
WHAT WE SEEK:
A committed, self-motivated individual, with training and experience in project or program monitoring and evaluation, good computer skills and familiarity with research methods, data collection and analysis, and who is able to turn quantitative findings into clear and useful reports. Additionally, we seek someone with good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, who is able to work as an active member of a team, and willing to take on a range of tasks as necessary to meet the organisation’s goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES (key relationships – internally & externally):
Assess, and further develop, the overall framework for monitoring and evaluation of CLL operations, processes and programs, including regular reviews thereof.
Develop key performance indicators and lead the development, standardisation and deployment of tools that capture appropriate quantitative and qualitative data to be used in monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all records maintained on all children accessing CLL services and facilities.
Provide monthly reports, through the PM, to the CLL Executive Committee (EC) on all M&E activities during the month in review, and half-yearly (or, more frequently as required or requested by the PM or EC) data analysis and evaluation reports.
Provide such monitoring and evaluation reports as are required by CLL funding partners in respect of any project or program.
Train CLL staff as necessary on the data collection tools and templates, and organise lessons learnt workshops/ review of program work plans as appropriate.
Facilitate documentation and reporting of assessments, program data, lessons learnt and best practices for internal and external sharing.
Assist with supervision and provision of basic education to children accessing the CLL drop-in centre.
Provide feedback to the PM and EC on CLL strategies and activities, and contribute input and ideas on ways to improve the effectiveness and the efficiency of CLL’s operations, programs or projects.
Undertake any other duties assigned by the PM or the EC as necessary.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Essential knowledge/skills/attributes:
Degree in Sociology, Economics, Social Work or other related field.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation and impact evaluation methodologies.
Strong IT skills and proficiency in Excel and all Microsoft office products.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Highly organised and able to work to deadlines.
Ability to work well as part of a small, integrated team.
Pro-active, confident, self-motivated individual.
Additionally desirable:
Experience working with children
Fluent Yoruba speaker
