SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Supporting the Deputy Medical Coordinator through delegated tasks and responsibilities including administrative tasks related to the coordination of work, ensuring good relationships with local and national authorities, and ensuring adequate program management in the projects, according to MSF protocols, (para)medical standards, rules of hygiene and the standard precautions in order to ensure the delivery of quality medical care for patients and their communities as well as to improve the health conditions of the targeted population.
Providing trainings for the local staff on specific identified topics, protocols, and medical standards, with the collaboration of the rest of the medical team.
Supporting the mission on the surveillance of potential emergencies, and emergency preparedness towards weekly update (Monday point info). meetings, reports, articles and in close collaboration with the epidemiologists (MSF, and the state).
Participating on the exploratory mission and medical responses according to the need.
Being the overall responsible of the local staff health management in applying the in-country staff health policy (insurance, reimbursement of medical expenses, consultation and regular planned check-up, medical certificate, sick leave, vaccination, etc.) in collaboration with HR/FIN department.
Providing support to the Medical Coordinator/Deputy Medical Coordinator on expat health when needed (vaccination, medical appointment, medication, etc.).
Ensuring all staff health boxes (emergency boxes, car health kits, houses, and offices) are available and updated in close collaboration with the pharmacy manager and Deputy Medical Coordinator.
Participating and providing support on the pharmacy activities: inventory, stock management in facilitating donation (pre-expired) with the rest of the team (med-supply).
Ensuring the medical library is updated: sharing updated national protocols and guidelines when available, in-country medical procedures and SOPs, etc.
Being overall responsible for the archiving of the medical files in collaboration with the Deputy Medical Coordinator and the main department in charge (HR).
Filling the medical position gap in case of need (Epi).
Plan, organize, and attend meetings with other partners and MoH in Abuja and Bauchi during field visits.
Organize and plan departmental meetings in collaboration with the Medical Coordinator /Deputy Medical Coordinator.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree
Valid registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)
Experience
Training or experience in tropical medicine and/or public health
Experience working with Nigeria’s MOH system (NCDC, etc.) and or INGO.
Experience working in a developing country.
Emergency experience.
Minimum 2 years experience
Languages
Excellent command of English language.
Knowledge
Essential computer literacy (word, excel, and internet), DHIS application
