MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN ELECTRICAL AND INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIAN

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reports to the Supervisor
Work with the supervision of Mechanical/Electrical Engineer and in relation with
suppliers and other plant dept, participate in the development of Preventive
Maintenance Set up for the new plant.
Participate in erection activities in order to acquire knowledge about the new equipment
Participate in Load and No Load Testing of the new plant.
Prepare all working documents and procedures.
Participate in all training that will be organized on the new equipment.
Carry out Mechanical/Electrical maintenance of equipment.
Carry out the test running of equipment after maintenance as well as the cleaning of the area
Continuously ensure all Jobs are done safely according to set standard.
Contribute to plant improvement and modifications where and when required.
Ensure that proper safety measures are being adhered to at all times by all personnel.
Observe and record some possible faults/anomalies on the equipment during maintenance or inspection.
Carry out test running of equipment after maintenance as well as the cleaning of the area.
Carry out emergency repair needs and safe storage/disposal of replaced spares
Participate in the scheduled inspection of tools and tackles (including safety tools and tackles) and that these are in optimal condition of safe use.
Participate in the Updating and developing of work procedures as may be required.
Prepare daily report of activities to the Supervisor
Participate in the work preparation including staging of spares, tools and resources before stoppage of equipment for repairs or maintenance.

SOFT SKILLS: Must possess the following soft skills;

Energetic and flare to work unexpected long hours.
Good aptitude for field work
Coordinate activities simultaneously
Good estimation of activity duration and execution
Application of safety regulations to all maintenance assignments

 
QUALIFICATION: A minimum of OND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering OR Technical College certificate with minimum of five relevant credits including Mathematics and English, plus a successful completion of a formal company specific apprenticeship program. Individual with reccqnised relevant Trade Test qualification such as City and Guilds certificate may be considered.
IT SKILLS:

Must have good knowledge of Microsoft word and Advanced Excel

THE PERSON:

Age between 25-45 years.
Proactive, Self motivated, Disciplined, Assertive, Analytical, very Energetic with good team leadership skills (must be a team player). High level of driive, result oriented with good communication skills.

EXPERIENCE:

A Minimum of 2-3 years cognate experience.
Knowledge of cement manufacturing process will be an added advantage
