About the role
The role holder will support the implementation of the Sustainable Entrepreneurship-Led Poultry Transformation Program (SEPTP) a Mastercard Foundation Funded Programme for Young Persons in Nigeria with a special focus on monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL). He/she will assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of SEPTP’s MEAL programme providing effective and timely support (including capacity building) to programme participants and/or partner consortium organizations. The role holder is saddled with the responsibility to develop and lead a portfolio of learning interventions to strengthen the learning and evidencing the works of the consortium member staff and to embed a culture of high-quality monitoring and evaluation, evidence, and learning across SEPTP and Christian Aid’s programme/policy work, to maximize our impact for people living in poverty. The role will have a particular focus on ensuring that we are bringing Christian Aids evidence and learning to life through the way that it is used and applied in different contexts.
About you
The role holder must have at least 5 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation with a good understanding of international best practices in development effectiveness, at least 4 years of experience in programme MEL support for large multi-disciplinary programmes implementing large bilateral donors, including conceptualizing and technical writing with strategic thinking and high-level analytical skills, skills in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis. He or she must have experience in creating databases for the entering, processing, cleaning, and extraction of data, experience in successfully working within a deadline-driven environment, excellent English communication skills (oral and written). The role holder should have interpersonal skills and cultural awareness, ability to work in a multicultural, inclusive, and equitable environment.
Desirable qualities of the role holder include knowledge and experience of MEAL and other participatory approaches, Knowledge and experience of statistics, experience of commissioning and managing consultants, familiarity with working in a consortium and the role of government/ private enterprise in development, ability to communicate (written and spoken) effectively in English language, good relationship management skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, strategic, analytical, problem-solving, and systems thinking capacity and skills, strong data collection and research skills and ability to interpret and analyze data, proactive, resourceful and results-oriented.
