MANAGER, FINANACE AND ACCOUNTS HEAD, MARKETING AND SALES

Job Objectives• Bookkeeping, Accounting, Financial Analysis and Reporting and Management of the organization’s financial resources.
Supervises (Direct/ Indirect)• Finance and Account Officers and Executives

Roles and Responsibilities
Financial Analysis and Reporting• Oversee all financial planning and reporting activities;• Prepare cash flow statements, income and expenditure accounts, tax returns and balance sheets;• Analyze and interpret financial information and company transactions;• Produce accurate financial reports weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually;• Ensure the company is in compliance with all statutory and reporting requirements;• Ensure the internal accounting policies and procedures remain relevant to the needs of the company.
Finance Management• Develop and maintain rigorous financial management mechanisms aimed at boosting operational efficiency across finance, sales, and support admin functions while reducing financial risk;• Develop and monitor implementation of quarterly/yearly budgets;• Manage finance processes, develop and implement a modern cost effective accounting system that will meet the challenges and objectives of the company;• Review all month end closing activities including general ledger maintenance and balance sheet reconciliation;• Actively drive the collection of receivables with a view to maintaining low balances at all times;• Serve as key point of escalation for Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable challenges and external auditors;
Others• Maintain banking relationships, cash flow and manage assets;• Represent the company to financial partners including financial institutions, investors, foundation executives, auditor and government institutions;• Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns;• Participate in business strategic planning process and define strategies for finance and accounting function;• Develop and mentor direct reports by setting, reviewing and assessing performance objectives;• Undertake research into pricing, competitors’ activities and any factors affecting operational performance;• Any other duty as may be assigned by the MD.
Key Performance Indicators• Timely preparation of budgets;• Timely preparation of management accounts;• Level of efficiency in management of taxes and related matters;• Average time to process approved payments and invoices on approved transactions;• Accurate and timely billing of customers;• Timely preparation of analysis and reports for management decision making;• Receivable balances and debt collection period;• Accuracy of financial records. Skills and Competences• Budgeting and Planning• Management Accounting• Corporate Finance• Excellent written and oral communication skill• Sound administrative and managerial skill• Good leadership and negotiation skills• Excellent interpersonal skill Qualifications & Experience• A university degree in Accounting or related field.• Minimum of 8 years working experience within the finance / audit & control department of a corporate organisation and at least 3 years at managerial level.• Professional qualification such as: ACA, ACCA, CPA etc.
