The maintenance technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of university facilities.
They are responsible for conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and addressing repairs within their respective technical areas. Work will be carried out across various university buildings, including hostels, staff quarters, classrooms, and offices.
Educational and Professional Qualifications
National Diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical field.
Minimum of 4 years’ hands-on experience in maintenance and repair within the respective trade.
Certification in Occupational Health and Safety or relevant technical training is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Competencies
In-depth knowledge of maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs within the designated technical area.
Proficiency in operating and maintaining specialized tools and equipment related to the trade.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures to enhance system efficiency and longevity.
Understanding of workplace safety standards, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.
Physical dexterity and strength to lift heavy objects, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks as required.
