Logistics & Cargo Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics & Cargo Officer to join our team in Ajah, Lagos. The ideal candidate will oversee the coordination of cargo operations, ensure efficient transport and delivery of goods, and maintain compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate cargo movement, ensuring timely pickup and delivery.
Manage inventory and maintain accurate records of cargo shipments.
Oversee loading and unloading activities to ensure proper handling of goods.
Monitor and update shipment statuses, ensuring real-time communication with stakeholders.
Collaborate with drivers and other logistics staff to optimize transportation routes.
Prepare and verify shipping documents, including invoices and delivery notes.
Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in cargo handling and transportation.
Resolve any issues related to cargo delays, damages, or discrepancies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, cargo operations, or transportation.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Knowledge of Lagos traffic patterns and transportation routes is a plus.
