Job Description
The Loan Credit Specialist is responsible for evaluating and analyzing loan applications, credit reports, and financial statements to determine creditworthiness and make informed lending decisions.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
Loan Application Review: Evaluate loan applications, credit reports, and financial statements to determine creditworthiness.
Credit Analysis: Analyze credit data, income, employment history, and other factors to assess the borrower’s ability to repay the loan.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and mitigating factors, such as collateral, credit history, and debt-to-income ratio.
Credit Decisioning: Make informed credit decisions, approving or declining loan applications, and providing recommendations for loan terms and conditions.
Loan Structuring: Structure loan agreements, including interest rates, repayment terms, and fees, to ensure alignment with the lender’s policies and risk appetite.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and lender policies.
Customer Communication: Communicate credit decisions and loan terms to borrowers, providing clear explanations and guidance.
Portfolio Management: Monitor and manage the loan portfolio, identifying trends, and recommending strategies to minimize risk and maximize returns.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in credit analysis, lending, or related field.
Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications: Professional certifications such as CRC (Certified Risk Compliance) will be an added advantage.
