Job Summary
The Lead will be responsible for driving business development, relationship management, portfolio management, and sales across co-operatives, government-owned enterprises, and private sector employers. This role involves developing and executing strategies to expand market share, enhance client satisfaction, and ensure the profitability of these segments. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of cooperative structures, government enterprises, private sector dynamics, financial services, and sales strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales:
Identify and develop new business opportunities with co-operatives, government-owned enterprises, private sector employers and professional bodies.
Design and implement strategies to increase revenue and market share within these segments.
Develop tailored financial solutions to meet the needs of cooperative organizations, government-owned enterprises, and private sector employers.
Drive the achievement of sales targets and overall business growth.
Collaborate with internal teams to structure and offer innovative financial products.
Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, cooperatives, private sector employers, regulators, and industry leaders.
Serve as the primary point of contact for high-value clients in these segments.
Conduct regular engagements, meetings, and networking activities to strengthen partnerships.
Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and resolve issues efficiently.
Portfolio & Risk Management:
Manage the portfolio of cooperative, government enterprise, and private sector employer clients, ensuring optimal performance and profitability.
Monitor market trends, industry risks, and regulatory developments that impact these segments.
Work with risk and credit teams to assess and mitigate potential risks associated with the portfolio.
Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.
Strategic Planning & Market Insights:
Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities in the cooperative, government enterprise, and private sector employer segments.
Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on potential growth strategies.
Develop and implement business plans to expand the organization’s footprint in these sectors.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
Work closely with product development, marketing, risk, and finance teams to enhance service delivery.
Represent the organization in industry forums, conferences, and meetings with government and private sector entities.
Advocate for policy changes and initiatives that promote the growth of cooperative, government enterprise, and private sector employer segments.
Key Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, relationship management, or sales within the financial services industry.
Strong understanding of cooperative business models, government enterprises, private sector dynamics, and financial products.
Experience working with government agencies, cooperatives, private sector employers, or public sector institutions is preferred.
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding business targets.
