Laser Technician Chef Aesthetician

Main Function

The Laser Technician is responsible for performing laser treatments such as hair removal, skin resurfacing, and other non-invasive aesthetic procedures.
This role requires in-depth knowledge of laser technology, patient care, and safety protocols.
The Laser Technician works closely with the medical team to ensure the highest standard of care and optimal results for clients.

Role Responsibilities
Client Consultation and Evaluation:

Conduct thorough client consultations to assess skin type, concerns, and suitability for laser treatments.
Explain the treatment process, expected results, risks, and post-care instructions to ensure clients are fully informed.
Develop personalized treatment plans in alignment with client goals and medical history.

Laser Treatments:

Administer a variety of laser treatments, including but not limited to laser hair removal, skin resurfacing, pigmentation removal, and tattoo removal.
Operate and maintain laser equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and clinic protocols.
Ensure precision and care during treatments, adjusting laser settings according to skin type, sensitivity, and area being treated.
Monitor the client’s comfort and skin response throughout the procedure, making necessary adjustments to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Pre- and Post-Treatment Care:

Provide pre-treatment instructions to clients to ensure they are well-prepared for their session.
Offer post-treatment care advice, including skincare recommendations and instructions on how to manage redness, swelling, or other temporary effects.
Schedule and manage follow-up sessions to track treatment progress and adjust as needed.

Safety and Compliance:

Adhere strictly to all safety and health regulations, ensuring a sterile and safe environment for all procedures.
Conduct skin patch tests when necessary to prevent adverse reactions and ensure treatment suitability.
Maintain detailed client records, including consent forms, treatment notes, and photos of progress for each session.

Equipment Maintenance:

Regularly inspect and maintain laser machines and other aesthetic equipment, ensuring that they are functioning properly and safely.
Report any malfunctions or necessary repairs immediately to management.

Collaboration with Medical Team:

Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and aestheticians to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Refer clients to medical staff for treatments that may require advanced medical supervision or diagnosis.
Stay informed on new techniques and collaborate with the medical team to implement best practices in laser aesthetics.

Experience / Qualifications

Relevant Diploma or equivalent required; certification in laser therapy from a recognized program is mandatory.
License as required for laser practitioners.
2+ years of hands-on experience working as a Laser Technician in a medical spa, dermatology office, or similar setting.
Proven experience with a range of laser devices for hair removal, skin treatments, and other aesthetic procedures.

Communication Skills: Ability to clearly explain treatments, procedures, and follow-up care to clients in a professional and empathetic manner.
Problem-Solving: Quick-thinking and able to adjust treatments or plans if complications arise, maintaining client safety and satisfaction.
Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple clients throughout the day.

Physical Requirements / Behavioural Qualities:

Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Manual dexterity to operate laser equipment with precision.
Ability to lift and move equipment when necessary.
High level of emotional intelligence in difficult circumstances with dedication to sustain performance, particularly when under pressure.
Strong work ethics and reliability.
