Job Summary:
The IT System Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role ensures the availability, security, and efficiency of systems, networks, and software applications to support business operations effectively. The System Administrator also provides technical support, troubleshoots issues, and implements improvements to enhance system performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and IT systems.
Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of infrastructure.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
Implement security measures to protect systems from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
Perform system updates, patches, and backups to ensure data integrity.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Maintain documentation for IT processes, configurations, and policies.
Collaborate with other IT teams to optimize system performance and resolve technical issues.
Support end-users by providing technical assistance and training as needed.
Plan and implement new technologies to improve business operations.
Ensure compliance with IT policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
First degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and networking concepts.
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Proficiency in managing Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other network services.
Understanding of cybersecurity principles, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
Hands-on experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Cisco CCNA) are a plus.
