Description:SummaryExecutes testing procedures to ensure that software meets established quality standards.Prepares data sets to test logic, error handling and system workflows. Isolates, reproduces, and tracks defects. Verifies fixes. Documents testing according to required procedures. Familiar with software development cycle and quality assurance methodologies. Administratively Reports to: Head, System & Network Administration
Functionally Reports to: Lead Software Developer
Key Responsibilities
Evaluates, tests, and validates all (internal/client-facing) IT systems and /or software to ensure continuous operations.
Carries out procedures to ensure that all information system, software, apps and services meet company and client standards and end-user requirements.
Thoroughly tests software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
Supports testing as a witness to testing requirements.
Reviews all documentation for completeness, accuracy, and correctness.
Organizes and maintains all quality assurance documentation.
Documents all problems (bugs/errors/defects), tracks status in designated systems, and works to resolve them.
Reports progress on problem resolution to line manager.
Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations.
Performs work flow analysis and recommends quality improvements.
Designs and implements defect reduction programs.
Ensures that all other project/department milestones/goals are met.
Requirements
Requires bachelor’s degree in IT or related field.
Typically requires 2-5 years experience in Software Development.
Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
