IT Officer

Requirement:

M A good first degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Computer science or any other related discipline.
Minimum of two years post graduate experience with a minimum of one year in a similar position.
CCIE/MCPIT, MCSA certification desirable
Detailed knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and MySql and Redhat base servers
Minimum of 3 years related experience and minimum educational qualification of B-Pharm.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Monitor and maintain computer systems and network of the company.
Install and configure new hardware/software and also apply operating systems updates and configuration changes.
Overseeing the prompt repair and rectification of occasional hardware failures as well as constant monitoring of network communication.
Creation of filing system as well sound back-up and recovery policy; ensuring that system data back-ups are performed regularly.
Keep abreast of advances in IT particularly in relation to OS and application software.
Ensure that the network operates at an appreciable level of security with the use of firewalls and other intrusion detection systems.
Facilitate operations and measures that check mate the safety of information in the network such as monitoring server security and maintaining user accounts.
Assisting with the implementation of policies governing the use of all computer systems and networks.
Maintenance of all aspects of the company’s telecommunications infrastructure including telephone networks, and other forms of telecommunications.
Maintenance and updating of the company’s website as required, in consultation with the ED and other senior management staff.
Participate in the development and maintenance of company projects which have an IT dimension, in particular the planning, implementation and maintenance of research outcomes which will take the form of internet accessible databases.
Develop and carry out routine auditing and assessment of the computer systems, generate reports and provide necessary documentation regarding actions performed on the equipment.
Provision of specification recommendations for the purchase of new equipment.
Assist in the preparation of the department’s annual budget and monitor its implementation through the identification and prioritization of IT needs in each financial year.
Conducting electrical safety checks on all computer equipment.
Provide unlimited technical and user support to all members of staff with technical queries and also to provide basic IT or technical training for members of staff when required.
Continually carry out research directed at seeking new technologies that will assist in yielding income for the organization.
Perform other responsibilities as directed by the Management.
