Internal Control Officer

Job Responsibilities

Monitor adherence to construction contracts, project budgets, and procurement procedures.
Develop and implement internal control frameworks specific to construction operations.
Establish controls over procurement, subcontractor payments, and inventory management.
Ensure proper documentation and approval processes for payments and project expenditures.
Identify gaps in internal control processes and recommend corrective measures.
Ensure that inventory management practices align with company policies to prevent material wastage or fraud.
Prepare internal audit reports with findings and recommendations for management.
Monitor and investigate irregular financial activities or policy violations.
Develop fraud detection controls for procurement, subcontractor agreements, and expense claims.
Work closely with management to address and resolve any suspected fraud cases.
Ensure adherence to industry regulations, safety standards, and labor laws.
Collaborate with project managers to verify compliance with contract terms and local construction regulations.
Conduct training sessions on internal control policies for employees.
Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Stay updated on best practices in internal controls within the construction industry.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business Administration or Risk Management.
3 – 5 years of experience.
