As an Infrastructure Specialist, the person will be: Working under the direction of the Center Manager and alongside the Event Coordinator the role is to plan, organise and run the technical logistics for events run by the Centre both in a reactive request mode and a proactive planning mode. Responsibilities/Requirements The Specialists in this job role will have:
Expertise in managing the operation of IT resources hardware, software, network, AV, and all aspects of the Centres to ensure high availability and service in all events run in the centre and those run outside of the Centre.
Attain SME Status on specific country focus solution as a support to the business (PoCs and PoTs)
Client facing skills and competencies
Develop high level technical expertise
Support business development
Coordinate training sessions as required for central and west Africa BPs and sellers
Design systems and assess the effectiveness of technology resources already in use or new systems that are being implemented.
Determine the practicality of changes and modification of systems.
Install & Deploy the Centre Virtualization Infrastructure (includes network switch, firewall, ESX servers, backup server, mgmt server, blade servers, SAN, tape and networking)
Stay compliant with the IBM security certification Process and maintain / update the required checks.
To be always on top of all operational and administration aspects of Centre CLOUD (Manage and Maintain the virtualization environment)
Support customer events using CENTRE Cloud (including Classroom/laptop and network set-ups
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer related field
English: Fluent
Basic background of IBM AIX, Windows and Linux OS.
Enterprise Java programming skills (J2EE, JVM, EJB, etc).
Mobile application development
Enterprise Messaging and Web Services: SOAP, JASON, XML, JVM, JVM Tuning –
Scripting (JSP, Javascript, HTML, HTML5, XHTML, CSS, JQUERY etc)
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
Master’s Degree in Computer related field
English: Fluent
Basic background of IBM AIX, Windows and Linux OS.
Enterprise Java programming skills (J2EE, JVM, EJB, etc).
