The IT Support Assistant is responsible for providing first-level technical support to employees, ensuring smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems. The role includes troubleshooting IT issues, assisting with system installations and configurations, supporting IT security, and ensuring data backup processes are properly maintained.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Hardware & Software Management

Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of company computers, peripherals, and mobile devices.
Support the setup, deployment, and troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, and office IT equipment.
Ensure all software applications are up to date and properly licensed.
Assist in troubleshooting printers, scanners, projectors, and other office equipment.

Network & Security Support

Monitor and maintain network connectivity, ensuring smooth operation of internet, intranet, and Wi-Fi services.
Assist in configuring and troubleshooting network devices, including routers and switches.
Support IT security measures, including antivirus updates, firewall management, and enforcing access control policies.
Assist in setting up user accounts, managing access permissions, and ensuring compliance with IT security policies.

Data Backup & Recovery

Ensure regular data backups are conducted and stored securely.
Support data recovery operations in case of system failures or security incidents.
Assist in implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

User Support & Training

Provide first-line support to employees by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Offer basic IT training to staff on using company systems, tools, and security best practices.
Maintain IT documentation, including troubleshooting guides, FAQs, and user manuals.

Qualifications

OND, HND, or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
Basic experience with hardware and software troubleshooting, networking, and IT security.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems.
Basic knowledge of networking (LAN, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP).
Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and IT security tools.
Understanding of data backup and recovery procedures
