Human Resource Officer

Job Summary

The Human Resource Officer will be responsible for providing support in the various human resource functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring, and employee counselling. The HRO will ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and employment laws while fostering a positive workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment and Selection

Develop and post job descriptions and advertisements.
Source and screen candidates through various channels.
Organize and conduct interviews in collaboration with hiring managers.
Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and induction programs.

Employee Relations

Address employee concerns and grievances promptly and effectively.
Foster a positive workplace culture through engagement initiatives.
Promote adherence to company policies and procedures.

Training and Development

Identify training needs through job analysis and performance reviews.
Organize and coordinate training sessions and workshops.
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and recommend improvements.

Performance Management

Assist in the implementation of performance appraisal systems.
Monitor employee performance and provide regular feedback.
Collaborate with managers to develop performance improvement plans where necessary.

HR Administration

Maintain and update employee records in compliance with legal requirements.
Prepare HR reports, metrics, and analytics as needed.
Oversee payroll processes in collaboration with the finance department.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, health, and safety regulations.

Policy Development and Compliance

Assist in the development and review of HR policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with employment laws and company standards.
Act as the point of contact for regulatory inspections and audits.

Exit Management

Manage employee offboarding processes, including exit interviews.
Process final settlements and ensure proper documentation.

Key Skills and Competencies

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
Proficiency in HR software and tools (e.g., HRIS).
Organizational and time-management skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Industrial and personnel management,  Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional certification in HR (e.g., APHRI, CIPM) is an advantage.
Minimum of [3 years] of experience in an HR generalist or officer role.
