Job Summary
The Value Chain Team lead will assist all business segments (Corporate, Commercial, SME and Retail) towards the achievement of UBN’s medium to long term strategic objective of converting value chain opportunities across identified key sectors of the economy.
Duties & Responsibilities
Drive revenues objectives from a Relationship / Products viewpoint i.e. by ensuring that the collections and retention targets of all selected anchor names are achieved.
Deepen selected Anchors Share of Wallet by increasing collections volume on existing and new distributors/suppliers.
Taking the lead to aggressively on-boarding new distributors/suppliers in conjunction with Regional Business Executives and Value Chain Leads.
Work with the various departments of the bank i.e. RMs (Corporate, Commercial, SME / Retail), IT, Operations, Risk Department etc. to ensure the on-boarding of new distributors/suppliers and their conversion to bankable assets and revenue streams.
With the support of Retail Banking, increase the bank’s payroll relationships of identified key Anchors and their distributors / suppliers.
Implement monthly Value Chain stakeholders (Anchor’s RM, Value Chain Leads, Business- Commercial /Retail, Transaction Banking, Risk Management, Operations and IT) strategic meetings to review success and address challenges/conflicts.
Implementation of Sector Specific Product Programs in collaboration with Credit Risk Team and other stakeholders.
Work with FINCON, Operations and IT to install an effective MIS system that supports proactive monitoring and realization of all assigned KPIs.
Publicize the activities of the Bank, its programs and goals through periodic market storms, customer engagement forums and financial planning seminars across Business (Corporate / Commercial & SME / Retail).
Requirements
University First Degree required; Higher degree (MBA/MSc) desirable but not mandatory
20 years banking experience in diverse functions including business origination, product development, cross selling and relationship management, sound knowledge of industry and economic matters, strong client and industry contact base.
