Head of Security

Position Overview

The Head of Security will lead the organization’s security operations, including physical security, information security, cybersecurity, and risk management.
This individual is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and coordination of security initiatives that protect employees, facilities, and sensitive data from internal and external threats.
The Candidate reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or Chief Operating Officer (COO) and may work closely with other departments such as IT, legal, and human resources.

Responsibilities
Security Strategy Development:

Develop and implement an overall security strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
Conduct risk assessments and develop action plans to mitigate identified risks.
Establish security standards, guidelines, and procedures.

Cybersecurity Management:

Oversee the organization’s cybersecurity framework, protecting sensitive data from breaches and other cyber threats.
Implement advanced cyber defense tools and monitoring systems.
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, etc.

Physical Security Oversight:

Manage the physical security of all corporate assets, including facilities, equipment, and personnel.
Collaborate with external security consultants and law enforcement agencies when necessary.
Ensure appropriate physical security protocols, including access control, surveillance, and emergency response plans.

Risk Management and Crisis Response:

Lead the response to any security incidents, including cyberattacks, breaches, or physical intrusions.
Develop crisis management strategies and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to manage incidents effectively.
Create business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

Ensure the organization complies with all relevant security laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Conduct audits and reviews to ensure that security procedures are up-to-date and effectively implemented.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

Lead, train, and manage the security team, including security analysts, guards, and other related personnel.
Foster cross-department collaboration, especially with IT, legal, and human resources, to integrate security initiatives across the organization.
Manage third-party security vendors and contractors.

Security Awareness and Training:

Develop and conduct regular security training programs for employees to promote awareness of security policies and procedures.
Ensure that the workforce understands their roles and responsibilities regarding security.

Budgeting and Resource Allocation:

Develop and manage the security department’s budget.
Allocate resources effectively to ensure that security measures are well-funded and appropriately implemented.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, or related field (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of experience in security, risk management, or a related field.
Experience in FMCG is required
Proven experience in managing physical and cybersecurity initiatives.
Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Certifications like Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or similar are advantageous.
