Head of Financial Performance, Reporting and Funding (Deputy General Manager)

Reports To: Group Chief Finance Officer/Deputy Managing DirectorDirect Reports: All members of Financial Performance Reporting and FundingKey Responsibilities:

Develop annual plans and budgets for the Finance department to support the achievement of the corporate strategy.
Develop, update and implement financial and accounting policies, procedures and strategies across the organization.
Advise Executive Management on changes in financial regulations, legislation as well as changes in competition and market trends.
Establish and maintain accounting practices to ensure accurate and reliable data is available for business operations and planning.
Provide financial advice on the organization’s short, medium and long term cash, funding to Executive Management.
Coordinate the preparation of the corporate budget and support Heads of departments in the formulation of cost management measures.
Develop and implement a robust and reliable financial reporting system for the organization.
Ensure effective management of the organization’s financial resources and compliance with annual budgets.
Provide effective, analytical and cost accounting support for the organization’s operations.
Effectively manage all payable and receivable accounts to ensure the availability of funds to finance business operations.
Develop and manage relationships with relevant external bodies/contacts e.g. regulatory organizations, Auditors, Solicitors and Banks etc.
Liaise with external and internal Auditors for the smooth performance of audit operations and deal with any queries from the Auditors.
Advise the Board and Management on liquidity, investment and Financial Asset Management.
Manage key banking relationships to facilitate proper, timely and cost-effective funding of business operations.
Implement and ensure proper accounting records are kept and compliance with the accounting policies and procedures of the Group are in line with financial regulatory standards.
Oversee the preparation and communication of timely, accurate and useful financial and management reports for investors, lending institutions and the Board of Directors on a periodic and / or ad-hoc basis.
Coordinate the preparation and consolidation of statutory annual accounts and ensure compliance with all accounting and reporting requirements set out in the Companies & Allied Matters Act.
Ensure that all statutory requirements for the Organization are met including withholding payments, Income Tax etc.
Provide accurate and timely reporting on the financial status of individual projects.
Manage the department efficiently.
Any other duties as assigned by the CFO

Professional Specification:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance-related discipline.
MBA with specialty in Finance would be an added advantage.
Relevant professional certifications e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA).
12-15 years post-graduation experience, 5 years of which must have been in a Management position interfacing with Executive Team and Financial Partners.
