The Role:
We’re on the hunt for a talented and driven Head, Internal Compliance and Audit to join our dynamic team. He/she would be responsible for ensuring the organization’s adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards. You will play a crucial role in implementing and monitoring internal controls, conducting compliance audits, and mitigating risks.

What you’ll do:
Regularly review and assess internal policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Monitor changes in legislation and industry standards and update internal policies accordingly.
Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and data.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and enhance internal control mechanisms.
Identify and evaluate potential risks associated with business operations.
Develop risk assessment reports and recommend mitigation strategies.
Plan and conduct regular compliance audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
Prepare audit reports with findings and recommendations for improvement.
Foster a culture of compliance and ethical behavior within the organization.
Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and audit results.
Prepare and submit required compliance reports to regulatory authorities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Compliance Rate: Measure the percentage of time the organization complies with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Audit Effectiveness: Assess the success of compliance audits by tracking the number of identified issues and the speed of their resolution.
Risk Mitigation: Monitor the implementation and impact of risk mitigation strategies, aiming for a reduction in identified risks.
Documentation Accuracy: Ensure that all compliance-related documentation is accurate, complete, and up to date.
Regulatory Reporting Timeliness: Track the punctuality and accuracy of regulatory reports submitted to relevant authorities.
Culture of Compliance: Conduct employee surveys or assessments to gauge the organization’s overall commitment to compliance and ethical behaviour.
What we are looking for:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Mathematics, or Engineering (Master’s degree an added advantage).
Certification in Compliance (e.g., Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional – CCEP) is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of cognate Internal Compliance and Audit experience, at least 6 of those in the Oil and Gas industry.
Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
