Job Purpose:
The job holder will work as part of the team responsible for truck maintenance at the matrix Truck Park.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Ensure all repairs of trucks, both critical and non-critical repairs are resolved in a timely manner.
Keeps proper records of trucks under corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance.
Ensure proper verification of breakdowns reported by the truck drivers and inspection team.
Carry out routine checks on all truck components.
Carry out Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for any breakdown and failed component and establish permanent solutions to issues while following industry standards.
Ensures trucks under maintenance are correctly collated and reported by the Fleet Officers.
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports to the Workshop Manager on all tasks and ongoing maintenance.
Ensure the required truck parts are supplied to technicians handling the trucks.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
HND degree in an Engineering course; preferably Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years experience in vehicle and truck maintenance.
Knowledge of various Mechanical and Electrical components of trucks.
Good knowledge of the basic mechanical components and systems of trucks.
Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Good time management skills.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Must have the ability to work with and maintain good relationships with colleagues at all levels including truck drivers and mechanics.
Knowledge of new technologies and techniques in Haulage Maintenance.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word and Excel) will be an added advantage.
