Guardian Counselor History Teacher

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure students who seek guidance and counseling services are attended to.
Conduct career and educational planning activities and mentor students for career and social development.
Implement individual and group counseling sessions as deemed appropriate.
Facilitate placement of students into appropriate subject/career/vocational studies.
Oversee and coordinate all mentoring assemblies and teacher mentoring sessions.
Mentor and counsel students after completion of punishment.
Connect students, parents or staff with specialized referral agencies where necessary i.e. Special Needs Assessment Agencies, etc.
Assist students set reasonable and realistic academic, social, and career goals.
Organize social and emotional seminars for students and staff.
Counsel and guide Students on post-secondary studies in and outside the country
Research and liaise with local and foreign higher institutions.
Any other duties assigned.

Education and Work Experience

First degree in Guidance Counseling, Psychology or any related field.
A Master’s Degree in Counseling or Psychology is an added advantage.
Five years (5) years’ work experience.

Overall improvement in students’ behaviours.
Percentage reduction in staff and student conflict.
Timeliness and accuracy of statutory records.
Percentage success of senior student subject placement.
Percentage success of graduating students’ university applications.
