Key Responsibilities
Conduct geological studies to assess potential hydrocarbon reservoirs.
Interpret and integrate geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data to generate exploration models.
Develop geological maps, cross-sections, and 3D reservoir models.
Evaluate core samples, well logs, and seismic data to determine rock properties and reservoir quality.
Identify and recommend drilling locations based on geological assessments.
Monitor and analyze drilling operations, ensuring alignment with geological models.
Collaborate with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and drilling teams to optimize exploration and production strategies.
Assess risks and uncertainties in exploration and development projects.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, environmental policies, and safety standards.
Stay updated with advancements in geological modeling, reservoir characterization, and exploration techniques.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in exploration and reservoir geology
Proficiency in geological software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom, GeoGraphix).
Strong knowledge of sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology, and basin analysis.
Experience with well-log interpretation, core sample analysis, and reservoir modeling.
Understanding of drilling operations and reservoir development planning.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and make data-driven recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in offshore and deepwater exploration.
Knowledge of unconventional reservoirs and enhanced recovery techniques.
Membership in professional organizations (e.g., AAPG, SPE, or equivalent).
