Purpose
To manage the strategic delivery of operational activities to ensure they consistently meet the needs of the commercial team across West Africa
You will be a member of the International Supply Chain and Africa Executive teams ensuring tactical and strategic delivery with regards to;
Budget planning and delivery
Capability and capacity Development
Strategic Planning
Culture Development (PACE)
Supply Chain Excellence
Customer Service Excellence
Define the West African operational agenda and translate the business needs through existing capabilities and new projects
Lead operational resources within Africa to ensure capabilities are in place to move with PACE and deliver against the business strategy
Contribute to the development of the Supply Chain Global strategy/culture and drive Africa Supply Chain development aligned to this
Areas of Responsibility:
Manufacturing, Engineering, procurement, Compliance (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, business continuity), Projects, Supply Chain Excellence, Imported Goods, Route to market logistics and Customer Service
Key accountabilities & deliverables
Leading the African team operational performance against all business KPI’s
Drive implementation Supply Chain Excellence tools and techniques
Continuously improve operating cost
Translate African Growth plans into CAPEX requirements and drive the implementation
Procurement strategy delivery sourcing stable, high quality and cost efficient direct and indirect materials and services using aligned to a Group Global procurement strategy
Making Customer Service an extreme focus for the African team
Compliance to local, UB and International standards
Driving factories to company Global Standards
Member of the of the Supply Chain executive ensuring best practice sharing and strategic alignment.
M& Operations leadership in Region
Desired Skills and Experience
Skills & Experience Required:
Operational/engineering leadership experience in a large FMCG environment, with experience in large capital project delivery. Experience in delivering large people change projects
Fully conversant with modern manufacturing methodologies and system planning, i.e. lean, Six Sigma. Track record of improving performance and effectiveness (OEE). Experience of working in a multicultural environment. Capex procurement. Supply relationship management with strong organisational and communication skills
Qualifications Required
Degree or equivalent in Engineering/business. Project Management e.g. Prince 2 Lean/Six Sigma qualified. 10 years + experience in FMCG environment in developing countries
