Fleet Officer

JOB OVERVIEW 

As a Fleet officer in Mezovest, you will be playing a crucial role in the fleet’s success. You will be responsible for ensuring a smooth operation of the company’s business such as vehicles maintenance, selection and hiring of all dispatch team members, compliance with regulation and making the final decision on whether a vehicle is safe to operate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Act to ensure timely registration of new vehicles purchased by the company as well as renewal of all vehicle licenses, roadworthiness, LGA stickers etc.
 Act to ensure all drivers operate in a safe and secure manner.
Scheduling regular maintenance on all vehicles/bikes.
Ordering urgent or emergency repairs as needed and supervising same to ensure it is excellently done.
Work closely with the supply team, in establishing efficient routing schedules/planning. While you also track vehicles to ensure adherence to scheduled routes.
Enforcing vehicle checklist and monitoring drivers to ensure adherence to schedules and proper driving practices
Ensuring all dispatch team members have valid required license before hiring such candidate 
Ensure every member of the dispatch team is adequately trained on the company’s process, procedures and policies. 
Responsible for the selecting, hiring, proper onboarding and training of newly recruited and old drivers/riders/busboys (dispatch team members).
Conduct analysis of vehicle status and make recommendations to the management team for timely replacement to improve cost-efficiency
Providing weekly reports to the management on activities carried out within the fleet department, budgeting, schedules, maintenance etc..
Developing methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency with the fleet operation by negotiating favourable payment terms, act to ensure prompt repairs and payment of mechanics. Ensure adequate monitoring of mechanics and due process for vendor selection. Ensuring qualified hands are recruited into the dispatch team and all company logistic assets are properly maintained.
Proper vetting of dispatch team members (busboys, drivers, riders and their guarantors)
Coordinate and supervise the day-to-day activities of the dispatch team members, alongside with the supply team.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Management.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS 

 

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business / Logistics, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics/ Fleet management.
Ability to adapt to changes in procedures, technologies, or work environments.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Proficient in MS Office(excel)/Google Workspace. 
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Basic knowledge of system-based inventory management systems.
In depth knowledge of vehicle basic operating system.
Ability to think on his/her feet.
Require minimal supervision.
Ability to be creative in logistic challenge resolution.
Ability to manage time and other resources availablehuman and material.

SALARY- 200,000 NGN 

NOTE ; Candidate must reside in Lagos preferably ikoyi and it’s environs, and must be available to resume immediately.
