We are in search of a seasoned and outcome-focused professional to manage and facilitate the daily activities of our Microfinance Bank situated in Ibadan.
The successful applicant should possess extensive practical expertise in microfinance banking operations, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, and system utilization, demonstrating a proven capability to uphold operational efficiency, adherence to regulations, and sustainable business expansion.
Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of core organizational tasks, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational standards. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines to enhance efficiency, compliance, and performance across departments. Lead cross-functional teams to drive project completion, foster collaboration, and achieve measurable outcomes. Monitor progress through regular assessments, data analysis, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, supporting professional growth and fostering a high-performance culture. Serve as a liaison between senior management and operational teams to facilitate transparent communication and decision-making. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and ethical standards in all business activities.
Oversee and manage the day-to-day functions of the branch to uphold operational efficiency and deliver outstanding service quality.
Oversee the processing of transactions to maintain precision in postings and documentation.
Ensure the effective utilization and administration of Microfinance Banking software systems to maintain operational integrity and efficiency.
Oversee cash flow management, assess liquidity positions, and supervise vault operations.
Guarantee precise recording of transactions and meticulous reconciliation of accounts to maintain financial integrity.
Compile and file financial and regulatory reports promptly, ensuring adherence to established deadlines and compliance standards.
Oversee the preparation and submission of CBN returns, FDIC reports, and other statutory filings in strict adherence to regulatory guidelines.
Ensure meticulous documentation and comprehensive audit trails are maintained for every financial transaction executed.
Strictly comply with all regulations set forth by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), standards established by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and internal policies to maintain operational integrity and regulatory alignment.
Ensure adherence to established operational and credit procedures to maintain regulatory compliance and mitigate risk.
Maintain communication and coordination with regulatory bodies as necessary to ensure compliance and address any inquiries or updates.
Collaborate effectively with both internal and external auditors to facilitate seamless audit processes and ensure compliance with established standards and regulations.
Promptly address and resolve audit inquiries while efficiently implementing all recommended actions.
Assess operational and financial risks and establish effective control measures to mitigate potential threats.
Direct employees at the branch, providing leadership and direction to ensure operational and business goals are met.
Ensure all team members comply with established policies, procedures, and service benchmarks.
Facilitate collaboration and streamline workflows by orchestrating interdepartmental initiatives across the branch.
Facilitate the advancement of corporate expansion strategies while ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service.
Provide thorough onboarding and maintain effective management of clients throughout their engagement to ensure seamless integration and sustained satisfaction.
Analyze and evaluate branch performance metrics, then compile and deliver detailed reports to senior management on a consistent basis.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development, preferably in a full-stack or backend-focused role.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript, along with familiarity with frameworks like Django, Spring, or React.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
• Experience with databases, including SQL and NoSQL solutions, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Solid grasp of version control systems, particularly Git, and adherence to best practices in code reviews and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to debug complex issues and optimize performance.
• Strong collaboration and communication abilities to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Passion for building scalable, high-performance applications and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes) is a plus.
A degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or a related discipline is required for this position.
A minimum of eight years of hands-on experience in core microfinance banking, complemented by extensive operational expertise, is required.
ICAN certification serves as a valuable asset for candidates applying to this position.
Skilled professionals should demonstrate prior expertise in operating Microfinance Banking Software solutions such as Bank One, Microfin, Cube, Qlik Bank, or comparable systems.
Demonstrates extensive expertise in transaction posting and reconciliation, regulatory reporting for entities such as the CBN and FDIC, and financial controls alongside audit procedures.
Requires a solid grasp of microfinance operations, lending procedures, and regulatory compliance standards.
Analytical acumen, meticulous organization, and adept problem-solving capabilities are essential.
Possesses exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, enabling effective guidance and collaboration within the team.
