Financial Accountant

Job Description

Our Client is looking to hire a Financial Accountant to oversee all financial activities of the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Reconcile account balances and bank statements.
General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the general ledger by posting entries.
Prepare month-end closing procedures.
Produce error-free financial accounting reports and present their results accurately and timely.
Recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures where necessary.
Inventory Management and procurement.
Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, WHT, and corporate taxes.
Support with Internal and external audit exercises.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Support Finance Manager to improve financial procedures.
Required to work collaboratively across teams to achieve its objectives.

Qualifications & Skills

Interested candidates should possess an HND or B.Sc. Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years experience.
Should be a member of a Professional Accountancy body (ACA, ACCA) or in the final stage of examination.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial reporting standards.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, Numeracy and organizational skills
Possess Critical-thinking skills and inquisitive
Ability to use accounting software – QuickBooks and Sage 50
