Reports to: Finance Supervisor and MD Purpose of the Job
Performs day to day accounting, financial/management reporting and treasury tasks
Ensures timely and accurate disbursement of funds and management audits.
Duties and Responsibilities
Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions.
Prepare and verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
Support with monthly account closure i.e. Including reconciliation of bank accounts and various vendor’s accounts reconciliations.
Manages Accounts Payables including processing invoices, following up on vendors and resolving discrepancies
Manages Accounts Receivables including processing receipt, producing statement of accounts, collections on overdue accounts and account reconciliation when required
Processing employee expense reports, verifying expenses are within the company guidelines, correcting errors, questioning abnormal expenses and posting into the finance system
Prepare monthly and quarterly report on variances
Support with preparation of trial balance and supporting documentation for all statutory account; ensure all journals are electronically filed and referenced for ease of access when required
Ensure tax compliance & remittances and other statutory obligations as and when due (VAT, WHT, PAYE, NCD) etc.
Manage the liquidity position of the organization and proactively invest loose cash.
Prepare the financial statements of the organization in compliance of the applicable financial reporting and regulatory guidelines and oversee external audit processes.

Work experience: Minimum of 2 year’s experience in a finance function
Age requirement: Maximum age of 35 years (39 years if female).
Computer skills: Extensive computer skills in using Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) plus other accounting software pertinent to work performed would be an advantage.
Management Ability: Able to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people (written and verbal) at all levels.
Good team player.
Technical skills:
Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
Knowledge of accounts payable
Knowledge of general accounting procedures
Organizing and prioritizing
Attention to detail and accuracy
Problem-solving skills
Academic Qualification
First degree in Accounting, Economics or a Finance related discipline, or
Other Finance and Accounting related professional qualifications.
Professional Qualification:
ACA, CMA, ACCA will be an added advantage.
