Since becoming registered in Nigeria, INSO has developed a strong regional approach, supporting NGOs operating in the context of the humanitarian crisis within the Lake Chad Basin region. The coordination office operates from Abuja overseeing the operational offices in Maiduguri (Nigeria), Maroua (Cameroon) and Diffa (Niger).Job SummaryWe are seeking for a Finance Assistant to support INSO Finance Unit for a period of six months in its daily, weekly and monthly financial activities. He/she will report to INSO Finance OfficerMajor Responsibilities

Record expense incurred in Bank and Cash Book extract daily; send to Finance officer for review.
Ensure Valid supporting document are attached before cash and bank payment are done.
Prepare Payment transfer instruction for Bank payment.
Reconcile Advance when necessary with support from Finance officer.
Ensure Proper filing of accounting document for Abuja.
Ensure Vouchers are scanned monthly for Nigeria, Niger & Cameroun and drop in the share point.
Extract staff National Housing Fund, Pension, WHT & PAYE Schedule and remit monthly; send to Finance officer for review.
Scan Maiduguri Pay slip and ensure ABJ staff sign pay slip monthly.
Ensure proper Cash management.
Fill in individual National Housing Fund Passbook monthly.
Scan Maiduguri related PAYE and WHT for documentation.
Review staff travel claim and make reimbursement when necessary.
Print monthly intercompany vouchers and file.
Stamp monthly accountancy reviewed document in the box file.
Stamp the Monthly Accountancy and record amount for different donors

Mandatory Qualifications:

A university degree or advanced certificate or equivalent in Accounting or Finance is required
2 years’ experience in handling cash and accounting
NGO experience is preferred
Accounting skills and experience in general ledger, journal entries, cash/bank management
Excellent computer skills in MS Office programme, especially Excel and knowledge of accounting software
Excellent oral and written English Language
