Role Summary

We require a proactive and technically proficient Electrical Engineer or Technician to oversee the operation, maintenance, and reliability of electrical systems in our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

The ideal candidate will oversee a team of electricians and technicians, guaranteeing the reliable operation of essential electrical systems while adhering to GMP standards and safety protocols.

Oversee a comprehensive range of essential duties, including managing project timelines, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring adherence to company policies and industry standards. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency. Monitor and evaluate performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategic solutions. Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate progress, challenges, and outcomes to senior leadership. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory requirements. Serve as a primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders, facilitating clear and timely communication.

Perform regular maintenance and address corrective measures for electrical panels, control systems, production machinery, and industrial automation equipment.

Assist with audits and inspections by ensuring accurate documentation and facilitating adherence to compliance requirements.

During external audits, inspections, and risk assessments, you will deliver specialized technical support to ensure all processes align with regulatory standards and organizational protocols.

Ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure including backup power systems, switchgear, lighting, motors, and distribution boards.

Oversee the planning and execution of electrical component installation and commissioning for new equipment or system upgrades to ensure seamless integration and optimal functionality.

Maintain precise electrical documentation, equipment manuals, and system diagrams while ensuring adherence to all applicable regulatory standards.

Collaborate with production and QA/QC teams to diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently.

Verify that all electrical equipment adheres to the stringent guidelines set by GMP, WHO, and NAFDAC.

Oversee the tracking of electrical energy consumption and develop actionable recommendations to enhance efficiency and reduce expenditures.

Seeking a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in the relevant field, along with a proven track record of success in similar roles. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical abilities, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure. A minimum of five years of hands-on experience is required, along with a relevant degree or certification in the specified discipline. Additionally, familiarity with industry-standard tools and methodologies is essential to excel in this position.

Bachelor’s or National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, including Higher National Diploma (HND) or Ordinary National Diploma (OND), is required.

Experienced candidates with a background in electrical maintenance are sought, ideally from pharmaceutical, FMCG, or manufacturing sectors.

NAB TEB, the National Business and Technical Examinations Board, is a Nigerian examination body responsible for conducting and awarding certificates in technical and business education. It operates under the Federal Ministry of Education and is recognized nationally for its role in assessing and certifying vocational and technical skills. The board administers various examinations, including the NBC/NTC, NAB TEB GCE, and the Advanced NBC/NTC, catering to both school candidates and private individuals seeking professional certification in technical and business fields.

Trade Test 1, 2, and 3 serve as formal assessments to evaluate a candidate’s practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and proficiency in a specific trade, ensuring alignment with industry standards. These evaluations typically encompass hands-on tasks, technical problem-solving, and adherence to safety protocols, verifying the individual’s readiness for professional certification or employment in the field. Successful completion of these tests demonstrates competency and compliance with regulatory or organizational requirements.

Proven expertise in diagnosing electrical issues, implementing preventive maintenance measures, and adhering to established safety protocols.

Proficient knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines, and National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) standards is essential.

Proficiency in PLC systems, SCADA interfaces, and power distribution layouts would be beneficial.

Accomplished ability to produce clear, thorough documentation and detailed reports.
