Role Summary
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Officer will facilitate the execution of environment, health, and safety policies and procedures throughout the organization.
This position is responsible for ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, fostering a safe work environment, and supporting the monitoring of environmental sustainability initiatives.
Oversee a broad range of duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure organizational objectives are met efficiently. The development and execution of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and programs are integral responsibilities.
Perform comprehensive evaluations of risks, conduct detailed safety inspections, and execute thorough audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with established protocols and regulations.
Oversee operational activities to verify adherence to established health and safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintain meticulous documentation of incidents, inspections, and corrective measures to ensure comprehensive record-keeping.
Develop and oversee environmental, health, and safety (EHS) training initiatives and awareness campaigns to ensure comprehensive workforce education and engagement.
Responsibilities include documenting and analyzing accidents, near misses, and workplace hazards to determine their root causes and implement corrective measures.
Lead efforts to advance environmental sustainability through comprehensive waste management strategies and proactive energy conservation measures.
Collaborate with team members to foster a culture of safety and ongoing enhancement in work practices.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience is required. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools is preferred. Excellent communication and organizational abilities are necessary. At least three years of experience in a similar role is required. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is a must. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards is highly desirable.
Requirements:
A Bachelor of Science degree or Higher National Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline is required.
Seeking candidates with a minimum of two years of professional experience in an Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) capacity or a closely aligned field.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE)/Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) principles alongside established workplace safety standards.
Professional certification, such as HSE Levels 1–3 or BOSH International General Certificate (IGC), is highly desirable.
