Drama Teacher

The Drama Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging drama lessons that inspire creativity, confidence, and teamwork among students. The teacher will also direct school productions, encourage students’ participation in drama competitions, and contribute to the overall cultural and artistic development of the school.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement a comprehensive drama curriculum that aligns with educational standards.
Conduct interactive drama classes, incorporating acting techniques, voice modulation, stagecraft, and improvisation.
Direct and produce school plays, musicals, and drama competitions.
Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that builds students’ confidence and communication skills.
Assess and evaluate student performance through coursework, practical activities, and examinations.
Organize drama-related extracurricular activities, workshops, and guest speaker sessions.
Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate drama into cross-curricular activities.
Maintain and manage drama resources, including costumes, props, and scripts.
Ensure the safety and well-being of students during drama activities and rehearsals.
Stay updated on the latest trends and techniques in drama education.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Drama, Theatre Arts, Performing Arts, or a related field.
Teaching certification (if required by the school or country).
Proven experience teaching drama at the secondary school level.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Experience in directing and producing theatrical performances.
Ability to inspire and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of different drama techniques and methodologies.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
Passion for arts education and student development.
Flexibility to adapt lessons to various learning styles.
