Key Responsibilities:
Database Installation & Configuration:
Install, configure, and maintain database software and related tools.
Deploy database updates, patches, and upgrades.
Manage database instances and schemas.
Database Monitoring & Performance:
Monitor database performance and identify potential issues.
Analyze database logs and performance metrics.
Implement performance tuning and optimization measures.
Proactively identify and resolve database bottlenecks.
Database Security & Integrity:
Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures.
Manage user access and permissions to databases.
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Ensure data integrity and consistency across databases.
Backup & Recovery:
Implement and manage database backup and recovery procedures.
Perform database restores as needed.
Ensure data recoverability in case of disasters.
Data Management:
Manage database storage and capacity planning.
Perform data migrations and conversions as needed.
Ensure data quality and consistency.
Troubleshooting & Support:
Provide technical support to users and developers on database usage and troubleshooting.
Resolve database-related issues and escalate complex problems to senior DBAs or vendors.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for databases.
Generate reports on database performance, usage, and issues.
Collaboration:
Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to ensure smooth database operations.
Participate in database design reviews and code reviews.
