The Data Engineer will have the capacity to truly move the needle of success, working closely with the Database Administrator on the IT Operations team, to implement real company-wide change and innovation.
Our Data Engineer will be essential in driving the data engineering and transformation efforts for Renmoney.
Responsibilities
Maintain and extend data warehousing capabilities and improve functionality of existing machine learning infrastructure.
Build new ETLs and extend existing ones, data acquisition & develop data set processes which includes defining data label and create appropriate description and data types (general data profiling).
Own the architecture, delivery, and evolution of interrelated big data systems for the firm and building reliable data pipelines.
Work closely with product engineering to ship experiments related to deploying new models, customer on-boarding data and journey tracking.
Create data-quality checks and procedures, tools for tracking and control on data pipelines.
Communicate with IT on data availability, data quality, data acquisition.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field; Hands on experience with ETL and SQL (MySQL workbench), python or similar language, Unix/Linux systems.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience processing data with SQL, building ETLs and data pipelines, and deploying them into production.
Expertise in writing performant SQL queries (OLTP (Postgres/MySQL) and MPP OLAP)
Experience working with both (Redshift/Vertica/Snowflake) databases; Platform engineering/ architecture experience; AWS data engineering experience; Apache Spark experience.
Strong in logic, number and can inference from data rather than assumption based.
Good understanding of the Data Science process and how to create Model Ready Data.
Strong coding experience in Python, ETL and SQL (writing stored procedures and data query).
Enjoy working on improvement team’s data knowledge and sharing data management practices with colleagues.
Responsible self-controlling skills.
