Credit Risk Analyst

Purpose Statement

We are seeking an experienced Credit Risk Analyst who will play a critical role in assessing, monitoring, and mitigating credit risks to ensure the stability and profitability of the company. This role involves conducting detailed credit evaluations, developing risk models, and providing insights that drive strategic decisions while upholding the company’s risk tolerance.

Responsibilities

Evaluate clients’ credit data, financial statements, and credit reports to determine lending risks and assess creditworthiness.
Conduct thorough risk evaluations of credit applicants, identifying potential risks and ensuring alignment with established guidelines.
Analyze client records to recommend payment plans and appropriate credit terms, interest rates, and collateral based on comprehensive risk assessments.
Monitor credit profiles of existing borrowers, assess changes in risk levels, and prepare regular reports on credit performance.
Collaborate with sales and other departments to manage financial orders, control credit exposure, and mitigate disputes.
Ensure compliance with credit policies and regulatory requirements by verifying the accuracy and completeness of credit and credit applications.
Recommend strategies to minimize credit exposure and improve portfolio quality while adhering to the company’s risk tolerance.
Contribute to the development and implementation of risk management practices to ensure operational efficiency.
Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decisions and maintain a balanced credit portfolio.
Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging risks to adapt credit policies and strategies effectively.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, or a related field.
Proven experience (3+ years) in credit risk analysis or related roles, preferably within the financial services/fintech industry.
Knowledge of credit risk models, credit scoring systems, and credit portfolio management.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL).
Excellent understanding of financial statements and credit risk metrics.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and best practices in credit risk management.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to stakeholders.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Proficiency in risk management software and tools is an advantage.
