Our client in the E-commerce, logistics and retail industry is seeking a dynamic and strategic Country Manager to lead and grow our operations in Nigeria. This individual will be responsible for shaping and executing the company’s business strategy, driving revenue growth, expanding market reach, and strengthening key partnerships. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, has deep knowledge of the local market, and possesses strong leadership and organizational skills.

Summary of Responsibilities

Business Strategy & Growth

Develop, refine, and execute a scalable strategy to grow the business in Nigeria.
Continuously assess market trends and adjust strategies to drive sustained growth.
Own and drive transaction conversions, revenue growth, and market expansion.

Market & Industry Expertise

Stay connected to industry trends, research growth channels, and identify opportunities for business expansion
Build strong networks across customers, partners, and investors to enhance business visibility.
Leverage deep knowledge of Nigeria’s payment industry and direct-to-consumer products.

Revenue & Performance Management

Act as the Chief Revenue Officer, ensuring all efforts are aligned with revenue and transaction conversion goals.
Optimize sales, marketing, and operational strategies to maximize market penetration and profitability.
Monitor key business metrics and implement data-driven decision-making processes.

Marketing & Brand Positioning

Develop marketing strategies that enhance brand visibility and consumer engagement.
Collaborate with marketing teams to execute campaigns that drive customer acquisition and retention.
Ensure the business is positioned as an innovative leader in the Nigerian payment space.

Leadership & Team Management

Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Act as a visionary leader, engaging and motivating the team to achieve ambitious goals.
Drive organizational effectiveness through strong leadership and structured management practices.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, partners, and investors.
Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and key networking opportunities.
Work closely with global leadership to align local operations with the company’s broader mission.

Requirements

8-10 years proven experience in a leadership role, preferably as a Country Manager, General Manager, or Head of Growth in the payments, fintech, or direct-to-consumer sectors.
Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of driving business growth and revenue.
In-depth understanding of the Nigerian market, consumer behavior, and industry regulations.
Exceptional business acumen, with the ability to develop and execute winning strategies.
Outstanding networking and relationship-building skills with key industry players.
Experience in marketing strategy development and execution.
Strong leadership and team-building skills, capable of driving a high-performance culture.
Excellent organizational skills, able to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
