Corporate Lawyer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented corporate Lawyer to join our legal team. 
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing legal documents, drafting and reviewing contracts, representing the company in legal matters, and managing relationships with contractors and external legal entities.
Please note that this is not a full-time job, but that of a contractor who would be on the company’s retainership.

Key Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents to ensure compliance with corporate policies and legal regulations.
Provide legal counsel to the company on business transactions, contractual obligations, and regulatory compliance.
Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and dispute resolution processes.
Manage and oversee the company’s legal relationships with contractors, suppliers, and external partners.
Ensure that the company operates in accordance with applicable corporate laws and industry regulations.
Handle relevant CAC documentation, and ensure tax compliance
Assist in corporate governance matters, including board meetings, compliance policies, and legal risk assessments.
Liaise with regulatory authorities and external legal counsel as needed.
Monitor and stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and legal best practices affecting the company’s operations.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) and a valid license to practice law in Nigeria
Proven experience as a Corporate Lawyer or in a similar legal role
Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple legal matters and work effectively under pressure.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Experience working in a corporate or in-house legal environment is preferred.
