Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Cook/Steward to join our team in Awe, Oyo State. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency in the kitchen.
The Cook/Steward will work collaboratively to ensure customer satisfaction by delivering delicious and fresh meals in line with specifications and food safety standards.
Responsibilities
Food Preparation and Cooking:
Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh and meet quality standards.
Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients accurately.
Prepare meals using various cooking methods such as baking, grilling, steaming, boiling, and frying.
Presentation and Service:
Present, garnish, and arrange dishes attractively.
Serve food promptly and accommodate guests’ special requests.
Workstation and Equipment Maintenance:
Set up and maintain workstations with required ingredients and equipment.
Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers.
Food Safety and Hygiene:
Handle and store food safely, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Maintain a clean and safe work area, including utensils, equipment, and dishes.
Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils regularly.
Inventory and Procedures:
Monitor station inventory levels and report shortages promptly.
Execute opening and closing procedures in the kitchen.
Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
Qualifications and Requirements
Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role.
Familiarity with various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Good organizational and multitasking skills.
Attention to detail and creativity in food presentation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Information:
This is a contract-based role located in Awe, Oyo State.
