Job Summary:
The client is seeking to hire a dedicated and experienced Communications Officer to join their team on a project focused on attitudinal change of faith, culture, and influential leaders through a series of critical conversations in Lagos and Ogun States, South West Nigeria. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating strategic communications initiatives to raise awareness of the project’s activities and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Create and develop compelling content that builds brand recognition for social media and other distribution channels (production of flyers and videos, as well as audio-visuals)
Obtain input from managers to ensure that designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the company or client appropriately.
Manage our social media channels to drive engagement and key messages.
Update and maintain internal databases for designs, photography, and video.
Monitor and analyze digital marketing metrics and performance to optimize strategies and improve results.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and influencers to generate media coverage and promote organization initiatives.
Media liaison and formal spokesperson responding to communication-related issues promptly.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or journalism.
Minimum of 3 years experience in a nonprofit organization is essential.
Exceptional writing skills with the ability to create clear, concise, and compelling content for various communication channels.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Experience in building and maintaining relationships with media contacts.
Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms to monitor and evaluate communication efforts
