Elim Christian Vocational Training Centre is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to working with the love of Christ to promote empowerment and inclusion of persons with disabilities and other vulnerabilities by facilitating access to sustainable disability inclusive and community development services, through partnerships and collaborations with relevant stakeholders as well as harnessing available resources using community-based inclusive development approach. We strive to make a meaningful impact by empowering community structures, advocating for supports of persons with disability as well as encouraging and sustaining community resources for the future generations ahead.
We are seeking a talented and dynamic Communication Officer to join our team. This individual will play a key role in managing our social media platforms and ensuring our message reaches and engages the right audiences. In addition to that, he will have skills in fund raising MEAL activities to improve the funding avenues and capacity of Elim.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage the NGO’s social media strategy.
Create engaging, high-quality content (posts, graphics, videos, etc.) for platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others.
Monitor, analyse, and report on social media performance metrics to assess engagement and reach.
Respond to comments and messages promptly, fostering meaningful online community engagement.
Collaborate with the programs, fundraising, and other teams to align social media campaigns with organizational goals.
Stay updated on social media trends, tools, and best practices to enhance the organization’s digital presence.
Ensure all content aligns with the NGO’s mission, values, and branding guidelines.
Build relationships with online influencers, partners, and media outlets to amplify the NGO’s voice.
Any other task required by Elim CVTC.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
Proven experience in managing social media platforms, preferably for an NGO or nonprofit.
Strong understanding of social media analytics and tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Meta Business Suite).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and storytelling.
Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and basic video editing skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
Passion for social causes and familiarity with the NGO sector is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit.
