Chief Training Officer (CTO)

Job Summary

Dexterous Applied Training Institute is seeking a highly experienced professionals to fill the role of Chief Training Officer (CTO). This position is specifically for seasoned educators from India with the required 10+ years of experience who are willing to relocate to Port Harcourt, Nigeria as an expatriate. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in education and training, including curriculum development, instructional delivery, accreditation processes, and operational management. The CTO will drive course planning, resource allocation, process improvements, and ensure the institute remains a leader in industry training and professional certification.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Management

Define and implement the institute’s overall training strategy.
Oversee the development and execution of training programs tailored to the Energy, Maritime, and Construction industries.
Ensure training programs align with international accreditation standards and industry best practices.
Establish policies and frameworks for training quality and compliance.
Drive innovation in training methodologies, including digital and blended learning strategies.

Course & Curriculum Development

Design and implement training programs that address industry skill gaps.
Ensure training materials and curricula meet local and international certification standards.
Continuously update course content to align with emerging industry trends and technological advancements.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and industry partners to enhance course offerings.

Resource & Staff Management

Oversee staffing, recruitment, and professional development of trainers.
Allocate resources effectively for smooth training delivery.
Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
Manage relationships with faculty, trainers, and administrative staff to optimize performance.
Supervise and mentor the training team, including instructors and administrators.

Accreditation & Compliance

Ensure training programs comply with international accreditation bodies and regulatory requirements.
Manage relationships with global certification organizations and maintain institutional accreditations.
Oversee audits, inspections, and quality assurance processes to uphold institutional credibility.

Industry & Stakeholder Engagement

Develop partnerships with industry stakeholders, professional bodies, and corporate clients.
Represent the institute at industry events, conferences, and professional forums.
Work closely with corporate clients to customize training programs for workforce development.

Financial & Operational Oversight

Manage training budgets and ensure efficient financial resource allocation.
Identify revenue-generating opportunities, including corporate training partnerships and grants.
Implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency and profitability of training programs.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Certification

Master’s Degree in Education, Training & Development, Business Management, or a related field.
PhD in Education, Organizational Development, or Strategic Management (preferred).
Professional certifications in training, accreditation, or instructional design (e.g., CIPD, ATD, ISO 29993, CQI/IRCA Lead Auditor, or equivalent).

Experience

Minimum 10+ years in the education, vocational training, or corporate learning sector.
Proven track record in managing training institutes, vocational centers, or learning & development departments.
Experience with accreditation processes for international certifying bodies.
Strong background in curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment methodologies.
Demonstrated leadership in managing large-scale training operations and multidisciplinary teams.
