Key responsibilities include:
Building a classroom culture in which scholars develop a love for chess and enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills by conveying information in an exciting way;
Teaching a rigorous chess curriculum to scholars that begin with chess basics and progresses to advanced tactics and gameplay;
Coaching and developing a high-performing team of scholars to compete in city, regional and national tournaments;
Investing parents by coordinating and encouraging family chess nights and internal chess tournaments; and
Engaging in training and collaborating with chess teachers and leaders in the company to benefit from targeted feedback and professional development related to instruction and content.
Requirements
Must possess good chess skills (advanced skills and tournament experience a plus)
Must be fluent in English (spoken and written)
Must be a person of high moral character
Must be passionate about chess and learning
Must be a coach with great motivational and leadership skills
Must have great interpersonal skills in multicultural environments
Previous teaching/coaching experience a plus
