Description
Cashier, is responsible for processing cash, debit, credit and check transactions using a cash register or other point-of-sale system in a retail Business. Duties include interacting with customers, balancing the cash register, determining change, recording purchases, processing returns and scanning items for sale.
Responsibilities
Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
Establish or identify prices of goods, services or admission, and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers, or optical price scanners.
Resolve customer complaints.
Requirements and Skills
Candidates should possess an HND / B.Sc / OND / NCE in relevant and related field
Work experience as a Retail Cashier or in a similar role in sales
Familiarity with electronic equipment, like cash register and POS
Good math skills
Strong communication and time management skills.
