Supervision of Carpentry Team: Lead and supervise a team of carpenters, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and in accordance with project specifications. Provide guidance and support on carpentry techniques, safety, and quality standards.
Quality Control: Inspect all woodwork and carpentry on-site, ensuring it meets the required specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. Ensure all carpentry work is performed with precision and that all installations are securely and accurately done.
Material Selection and Management: Oversee the selection of appropriate materials for carpentry work, ensuring that wood and other materials are suitable for use in swampy, waterlogged, or marine environments. Ensure materials are stored properly to avoid damage from moisture and weather conditions.
Safety Management: Ensure all carpenters are adhering to proper safety procedures, including the proper use of tools and equipment, wearing necessary PPE, and maintaining a safe working environment. Enforce safety protocols specific to working in wet or unstable conditions.
Coordination with Project Teams: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure carpentry work is coordinated with other aspects of the construction project, including the scheduling and sequencing of tasks.

Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot carpentry-related issues on-site and resolve challenges related to the environment, such as moisture damage, material handling, or design changes.
Documentation: Keep detailed records of work completed, including any deviations from plans, challenges encountered, and corrective actions taken. Ensure proper reporting to senior management regarding progress, quality, and safety on-site.
Environmental Protection: Take the necessary precautions to protect materials from moisture, mold, or rot, ensuring that carpentry work is durable and resilient in swampy, waterlogged, or marine environments.
Compliance: Ensure all carpentry work complies with local building codes, environmental regulations, and industry standards for construction in challenging environments.

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, woodwork, and the ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Familiarity with specialized carpentry work for challenging terrain (e.g., formwork, scaffolding, marine-grade materials).
Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading and supervising carpentry teams, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Safety Training: Extensive knowledge of construction safety procedures, particularly in relation to carpentry tools and working in wet or unstable conditions. Certification in OSHA, NEBOSH, or similar safety standards is preferred.
Environmental Awareness: Understanding of how environmental factors like moisture, humidity, and exposure to water affect carpentry materials and techniques. Experience in protecting wood from water damage, rot, or corrosion.
Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve carpentry-related issues on-site and find solutions to challenges posed by difficult working conditions, such as waterlogged or swampy terrain.
Education: A diploma or certification in Carpentry, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in Wetland or Marine Projects: Prior experience in carpentry for construction projects in swampy, waterlogged, or marine environments, particularly working with treated wood and other materials designed for high-moisture areas.
Structural Understanding: Knowledge of structural carpentry and the ability to interpret and apply structural designs to carpentry work, including working on foundation forms, framing, and other structural wooden elements.
Project Management Skills: Ability to plan, schedule, and manage carpentry work in conjunction with other trades and project requirements.
