Job Overview
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, and driving revenue growth in line with the company’s strategic objectives.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in expanding the company’s presence in the oil and gas sector and supporting its long-term growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, new business opportunities, and emerging markets in the oil and gas industry.
Develop and execute business development strategies that align with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
Analyze competitor activity and industry developments to inform strategic decisions and positioning.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, partners, stakeholders, and industry influencers.
Act as the primary point of contact for business development inquiries, providing professional support and guidance to clients and partners.
Negotiate and close deals, ensuring the best possible terms and conditions for the company and its clients.
Drive new revenue streams by targeting potential clients, including energy companies, governments, and other industry players.
Collaborate with internal teams (technical, operations, legal, etc.) to craft tailored solutions that meet client needs and secure business contracts.
Develop and manage sales pipelines, forecasting revenue and tracking progress against targets.
Lead the preparation and submission of high-quality proposals, bids, and tenders, ensuring compliance with client specifications and company standards.
Work closely with engineering, legal, and finance teams to ensure successful project execution after contract awards.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment between business development activities and company operations.
Provide market insights and support the development of new products, services, and capabilities in response to customer needs.
Regularly report on business development progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior management.
Maintain detailed records of sales activities, contacts, contracts, and other pertinent business development information.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development within the oil and gas industry.
Strong understanding of the oil and gas sector, including market trends, regulatory environment, and key players.
Proven track record of successfully developing new business and generating revenue.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in upstream, midstream, or downstream oil and gas operations.
Familiarity with the latest industry technologies and innovations.
Existing network of industry contacts and relationships.
Knowledge of foreign markets and international business development experience.
