Authority and Responsibility

The Board of Directors is the legal authority for CASFOD. As a member of the Board, you act in a position of trust for the community and is responsible for the effective governance of the organisation. 

Qualifications and Skills 

Knowledge and skills in one of the following governance area: policy development, program development (focus on gender, human rights, sexual and reproductive health) human resource management, fund raising and conflict resolution and youth program design. 

Term and Duration

Directors will serve for a period of 3-year renewable term. 

Requirements

Applicant should be female between the age of 18 – 25.
Proven experience or demonstrate interest in leadership, program management, advocacy and youth engagement.
Commitment to the work of the organization.
Knowledge and skills in one or more areas of the governance areas listed above.
Attend all Board meetings. 
Attend Board retreats.
Be informed of CASFOD’s work and programs and publicly support the organization. 
Prepare for and participate in the discussions and the deliberations of the Board. 
Be aware of and abstain from any conflict of interest. 
Ability to represent CASFOD at relevant events and build parnerships with other organisations. 
Adherence to ethical standards and safeguarding principlaes in line with CASFOD’s mission. 
Support for fostering diversity, equity and inclusion in CASFOD’s work and governance. 
Familiarity with digital tools and platforms.
